Here we go…

So, here I am sitting in my lovely middle seat assignment on the plane on the way to our home in Naples, Florida. (At least we go row 22 and will be spared most of turbulent feeling, which I hate).

I’m simultaneously excited and nervous to head back. It’ll be amazing to sleep in my own bed of course. But tomorrow is my first day of real nutrition and physical training to prepare for my very first NPC Bikini Competition.

Competing has been something on my bucket list of a little bit, so that one day I may look back and say “Damn! Look how good of shape I was in” before my tits fall into my shoes or resemble chancletas (this is Spanish for shoes…and not just any shoes, but the flat sandal like flip-flops, so you get the picture).

I’m very blessed to be on a hiatus from work and have managed to convince my husband to allow me to hire a coach. I chose Steph Dorworth from Beautiful to the Core. She has been really great and very responsive. She’s given me a calorie goal of 1700 per day, and to eat 111g protein per day with flexible fats and carbs. One day per week I get an extra 250 calories to spend on food or drink. According to her, my goal of cutting to 12-14% body fat by December 4th is attainable.

Currently I’m sitting at 144 pounds, 5 foot 6 inches, and roughly 25-27% body fat.

Basically, I’ve got a bit to go.

Diet and 5x per week weights starts tomorrow—let’s do this!
